Husky and reindeer safaris
A vacation in Lapland is nothing without a husky or reindeer safari! In Suomu you can experience both unique adventures.
In the past dog sleds were used to transport medicine and mail in arctic areas. Nowadays husky dog sleds are only seen in leisure activities and dog sled races since snow mobiles replaced the dogs in transportation missions.
Dog sled rides with husky dogs that are full of excitement and sympathy is a speedy experience that is remembered as one of the highlights of a vacation in Lapland. On a dog sled trip you will have a chance to try to steer a sled that is pulled by six to eight dogs through snowy forests. One adult and two children have a pleasant ride in one sled.
Huskysafaris is the organizer of the husky dog sled trips in Suomu. The group trips last about one to three hours. Overnight trips in a forest cottage can also be arranged by reservation in advance. Steering the sled is allowed to all individuals over 15-years of age.
